What’s Scary about Sarah Palin Isn’t Just Sarah Palin. It Will Say Something About Americans’ Wrecklessness If, Knowing What We Know About Her, Most of Us Vote for Her Anyway

Sarah Palin is clearly out of her depth, and that’s scary.

And the fact that McCain exercised such poor judgment is scary.

But if the Republican ticket wins anyway, that will really say something scary about America—that the majority of Americans are okay with a person out of her intellectual and experiential depth a health crisis away from the American presidency.

It is grossly wreckless, and a sign of real cultural decadence, that the polls leading up to this election are even close.

I fear for the future of my country.

Honestly, this girl from My Damn Channel talks just like Palin, check out her vlog because it’s quite amusing:

I am absolutely terrified as well. I am filled with a deep depression just thinking about the possibility of McCain and Palin winning. Quite frankly, it scares the shit out of me. Sometimes I just want to cry. I haven’t yet, but I can guarantee you that if for some insane reason the Republicans win this election, I will probably spend at least a day in a deep depression involving lots of crying and lots of chocolate ice cream.

What will happen to our country? It will be in even worse ruins than it is now. This “Horrendous 8” (you know what I’m talking about) will turn into a “Destruction of the US 12,” and even scarier…potentially a “Horrendous Destruction of the US 16.”

Our country needs to become educated. The reason people vote for such fools is because they don’t know any better. I think it’s the ignorance in our country that scares me so much.

Let’s cross our fingers and vote. Oh, and try to convince every soul that we know to VOTE OBAMA…or we’re severely screwed as a nation.

Emily has expressed how I am feeling too: Terrified and depressed. But it isn’t simply that Americans are uneducated: They are turning out to be more willful, spiteful, and glib about life and death issues than I ever imagined possible. And why not: While they were watching American Idol and NASCAR, Bush-Cheney succeeded in the most ambitious power grab in U.S. history, vastly expanding the power of the executive branch with no resistance from Congress.
