What William Jennings Bryan Might Have Said About the $3,000 Bill That Each American Man, Woman, and Child Has Just Been Saddled With to Bail Out Wall Street Investment Gamblers

In response to a debt crisis more than one hundred years ago, William Jennings Bryan spoke these famous words at the Democratic Convention of 1896:

You shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns; you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold.

Absent his anti-science posturing against evolution, we need more Williams Jennings Bryans in office and fewer Bush-McCain “good ol’ boys” who will deregulate financial industries, leaving thieves to run rampant, and go to sleep at the wheel.

I think Barack Obama will bring real change to the way Washington works.
