As Republican John McCain Tries to Shift Public Focus From the Economy to “Swift Boating” Obama, Is It Simply Damaging McCain’s Brand (Instead of Obama’s)?

Fivethirtyeight.com has an interesting graph that suggests that as Republican John McCain attempts to “swiftboat” Obama with personal attacks, and avoids talking about the issues Americans are worried about (like the economy), that this strategy may be proving itself to be more damaging to his own brand than to Obama’s:

It may be quite difficult for McCain to attack Obama in this fashion without significantly damaging his own brand. The chart below presents a smoothed curve of each candidate’s net favorability ratings since the first of the year:

What’s interesting is that, with the exception of the past couple of weeks, McCain’s and Obama’s ratings have been fairly strongly correlated, tending to rise and fall together. This is not to say that negative campaigning doesn’t work — it sometimes does — but it works at diminished efficiency, because you may be giving back 50 cents on the dollar by harming your own approval scores.

  1. I had read on many lying Sites that Barrack Obama does not drink alcohol and that is not true.. is Obama an alcoholic http://www.sofakingdrunk.com/2008/05/09/obama-and-clinton-drinking-alcohol-obama-drunk-clinton-drunk/

Reality! These days it is too hard to tell the difference between secular persons and the professing Christians . Genuine Born Again Evangelical Christians are total abstainers from smoking, drugs, alcohol, cheating, lying, stealing, tax evasions, pornography, or rather all personal vices, Impairments , gay sex and they openly oppose, they undeniably do not encourage or approve of such immoral acts now too

you left off your list listening to rock music, dancing, reading secular books, gluttony, watching secular television, going to plays or movies, and (for women) working outside the home.

    how come?

aren’t all these things sins too?

do you do any of these?
