“If You Look at the Israelites, That’s How They Work—And That’s How They Are Even Today”: Thomas Muthee, Sarah Palin’s Witch Hunting Pastor, May Be Hurting McCain with the Jewish Vote in Florida

In 2005, just before Thomas Muthee prayed over Sarah Palin to protect her from “witchcraft,” he talked to the Wasilla Assembly of God congregation about the need for Christians to take over, from unbelievers and “Israelites,” the running of the global economic system (see below clip starting a bit before the 2 minute mark).

The result of this dominionist Christianism and medieval way of thinking of Judaism is this: John McCain, it appears (by choosing Sarah Palin as a running mate) is alienating the Jewish vote in Florida.

Sarah Palin, according to Salon.com, may be having a serious drag on McCain’s bid to win Florida.

Here’s the transcript of what Muthee said:

The second area whereby God wants us, wants to penetrate in our society is in the economic area. The Bible says that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. It’s high time that we have top Christian businessmen, businesswomen, bankers, you know, who are men and women of integrity running the economics of our nations. That’s what we are waiting for. That’s part and parcel of transformation. If you look at the—you know—if you look at the Israelites, that’s how they work. And that’s how they are, even today.

In other words, Muthee is saying:

• The wealth of the wicked (read Jews and nonbelievers) is being stored up for the people of God—and they will one day take control of it. The people of God don’t, in other words, control it yet. Jews (“Israelites”) and nonbelievers do.
• Jews (“Israelites”) and nonbelievers don’t run the world with integrity, but Christians will when they come to power.
• The takeover of the world by Christians “is what we’re waiting for.” 
• Lastly, if you look at the Jews (“Israelites”), they know how to run the economics of nations because “that’s how they work. And that’s how they are, even today.”

This is the kind of nonsense that Sarah Palin sat placidly through.
