We’ll Be Back. Again. And Again.

Although Proposition 8 in California passed, and the rights and equality of gay people were set back, Andrew Sullivan said something moving about same sex marriage advocates and activists, and the equality that they came so close to more permanently establishing in California. History, said Sullivan, begins with:

A few people, forging the future on their own, taking on the impossible, but making it more possible with every step they take.

We’re going to keep on walking and agitating—gay and straight—and in a decade reverse this evil and bigoted change to California’s constitution.

Though it didn’t happen November 4th of this year, gay people will be fully equal citizens in the near future.
