Pro-Choice, Pro-Gay Marriage, Economically Libertarian: Meet the Future of the Republican Party

Or, at least, I hope this is the future of the Republican Party. I like Meghan McCain’s self possession, social tolerance, and emotional expansiveness. She is the jewel of the Republican tribe. 1 Response to Pro-Choice, Pro-Gay Marriage, Economically Libertarian: Meet the Future of the Republican Party

  1. Jay says:

I have been studying philosophical anarchism and libertarianism for several months now. I believe I would fall more within the left leaning libertarian camp at this point. I would probably agree with the Libertarian Party on 95% of their platform but would have some differences as it relates to certain economic policies. I am a mutualist which would take quite awhile to explain but basically it takes the best elements of capitalism and socialism. It supports solo business, partnerships, etc operativing withn a free market. When it comes to larger industries it supports worker ownership and control via worker associations rather then a single owner(s) with employees drawing just a wage. Mutualists tend to support fair trade globally and trade unions. I believe individuals should decide if they marry or not and not the government. I think the government should recognize private marriages and accord them the same rights but not get into licensing them. Thus i would support defacto same sex marriage in law. I also am socially prolife but oppose criminalizing abortion so again I am defacto prochoice as it relates to the law.
