Swine Flu Symptoms: Ache, Coughing, Sneezing, Fever. If You Have Any of These Symptoms, Stay Home

And if you don’t have any of these symptoms, and are out and about today, wash your hands frequently.

This today in the Los Angeles Times:

The symptoms of swine flu are nearly identical to those of other influenza, including high fever, aches, coughing and congestion. It is spreading by human to human contact. . . . Besser and other officials at the news conference emphasized steps that the public could take to limit the spread of the disease: Wash hands frequently; stay home and don’t board airplanes if you feel sick; and keep sick children out of school.

You’re mother needs to take you to see a DOCTOR. Period. Call the school yourself if need be, and tell them you might have swine flu. Remember, you run a high risk of infecting many people, possibly some at risk of developing serious or deadly complications.

This swine flu pandemic is getting out of hand in my area. People aren’t talking about anything other than the swine flu.

Interesting stuff. Did you hear that there’s a new strain which is resistant to the anti-flu drugs? Tamiflu etc? Found a really good website for tracking it’s progress, seems to be updated every hour or so… http://www.swinefludeaths.co.uk.

I recently went to the doctor, I was experiencing high fever, (your temp normally rises around 4:00pm naturally) of 100.2 – 103.6 I also had severe chills with a headache, my doctor told me it was SWINE FLU. The only way to diagnose this is to go to your doctor and get a blood test and or nasal swab. Do not try to self diagnose yourself, if it is SWINE FLU it needs to be treated promptly.

    Josh,

I think it would be reasonable to listen to what you have to say about vaccination AFTER you’ve finished medical school.
