Former Bush Cabinet official, and now President Obama’s Defense Secretary, is impressed with our new president:
“He is very analytical,” Gates told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King. “He is very deliberate about the way he goes through things. He wants to understand everything. He delves very deeply into these issues.” Gates, who previously worked for 27 years in the CIA under six presidents, was the first defense secretary to be asked to remain in office by a newly-elected president when Obama kept him on.
This is the kind of president that we want, right? Obama is somebody who is hard working, deliberative, curious, careful, and smart. We picked well back in November, didn’t we?
President Obama makes me proud to be an American. When my kids (who are three and five years old) grow up, I want to be able to tell them that, at a historic moment in our nation’s history, I voted for Barack Obama.
