Ground Zero Mosque Fact Check

Not that the facts matter (for the right in this country makes up its own facts exactly as it pleases), but some AP reporters actually went to the bother of fact checking some of the claims that prominent Republicans like Newt Gingrich have made about the so-called ground zero mosque.

Most everything the right is saying about the mosque is bullshit.

If you have god on your side…facts just don’t matter.

A short, but excellent post! In fact, I used the same link in my own blog on the subject! It’s a longer read, but comments are welcome! 🙂

Facts seem to mean very little to the news media and certain politicans on this topic. Too much fear, hate-mongering and rhetoric.

I just read a comment on an atheist website that has the best statement on this controversy I have heard yet.

Plus, has anyone looked at the Ground Zero site lately? It’s trashed. It’s gross. If this is supposed to be a memorial, a place for people to come to remember, mounds of dirt and scaffolding is not going to do the job. It truly worries me that our politicians and citizens are too busy being worried about a religious group trying to practice hope and love and peace (which IS what Islam teaches), than to memorialize a site they consider oh so sacred.
