But not in that order. I actually got my flu shot on Monday and saw Contagion on Tuesday. My wife and kids also got their flu shots this week.
As to the movie, it’s a must-see that is well informed medically. An expert on viruses from Columbia University was influential in the making of this film and was on location with the actors, coaching them in such things as how to depict seizures realistically. Because the director followed conservative and expert-based plague scenarios throughout, the first seven days of the outbreak (perhaps the first half hour or so of the film) were especially terrifying in their plausibility.
Matt Damon was also very good.
So, there it is. Get your flu shot and go see Contagion this week.
It’s time.
