On Iran Nukes, Bibi Netanyahu Will Decide the Fate of the 21st Century

Not knowing they were in the presence of live mikes, Haaretz reports that French President Sarkozy and US President Obama were recently recorded trash-talking Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu:

Sarkzozy reportedly told Obama he belived Netanyahu to be a “liar” and said, “I cannot stand him”, to which Obama replied, “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day”.

What’s most interesting to me in this disclosure is the amount of time President Obama is devoting to Prime Minister Netanyahu. It suggests to me that Netanyahu is moving in the direction of an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities and President Obama is spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to react to this fact.

2012, I believe, will be a pivotal year in the history of the 21st century—the year when Bibi Netanyahu and his cabinet make the existential decision to either attack Iran or live with its entry into the nuclear club (with all the risks to Israel and global peace that this entails).
