The BBC Documentary on Mitt Romney’s Mormonism

Does Mitt Romney seriously believe Jesus came to America 2000 years ago and that Native American skin color signals a curse upon Native Americans? Thank goodness for the BBC.

If you don’t have time for the whole documentary, at least check out Park Romney, an apostate relative of Mitt Romney, at the 38:06 mark. He looks like his cousin Mitt, and I like his use of the following phrase for the Mormon leadership: he calls them “masters of mendacity.” That seems to fit Mitt all too perfectly.

Not voting for Mitt because of the Mormon church is like not voting for Obama because of Rev Wright. I approve of both positions 🙂

Andrew, those two things are not equivalent.

Mitt Romney IS a Mormon. As we would expect, his faith influences who he is. Consequently, we could expect his faith to have some part in his actions as President. Whether you like that is up to you to decide.

Obama is Obama, not Rev Wright. He may associate with people such as Rev Wright but Obama’s associates are not the President. To what degree his associates influence him, and whether you like that association, is up to you to decide.

I’d rather have a President who associates with loons than a President who is a loon.
