Quoting President Obama on the campaign trail, this is in the Los Angeles Times today:
You know, today’s the three-year anniversary of Sonia Sotomayor taking her seat on the Supreme Court. Yesterday was the two-year anniversary of Elena Kagan taking her seat on the Supreme Court. So let’s be very clear: The next president could tip the balance of the court in a way that turns back the clock for women and families for decades to come.
If I were President, I’d nominate Martha Nussbaum for the next open slot on the Supreme Court (if she would accept). I wonder if President Obama has ever considered her.
