I Agree with Rick Santorum on Something

Finally, Rick Santorum says something I can agree with. Concerning the right-wing base of the Republican Party, he recently said the following:

We will never have the elite, smart people on our side, . . .

Santorum’s explanation for this? “[B]ecause they [the smart people] believe they should have the power to tell you [conservatives] what to do.”

Well, no. Sometimes the simplest explanation is best. Smart people don’t sign-up in droves to be Republicans because the Republican Party has little respect for science, emotional maturity, and nuance–and promotes ideas that are mostly dumb.

Ya gotta love that epiphany ‘…will never have smart people on our side.’
Though it probably excludes some or the smart rich who know where their butter gets spread.
