_________

And below is the original 1976 trailer for Carrie. Carrie the book was Stephen King’s first novel and Carrie the movie gave John Travolta his first screen role. The film’s power lies in revenge-fantasy (and so reminds one of Tarantino’s Death Proof and Django). It’s always satisfying to witness abusers, dicks, and assholes getting their (long-overdue) comeuppance. The arc is long, but it bends toward Carrie.
