Republican Governor Rick Perry Calls on Texans to Pray For Rain

Reuters reports that the governor of Texas, Rick Perry, has called on Texans to pray to God for rain, and quotes him as saying the following:

It is fitting that Texans should join together in prayer to humbly seek an end to this ongoing drought and these devastating wildfires.

If prayer for such things has never worked (and it is quite evident that it has never worked), why is it fitting to pray? Are Texans in the habit of doing ineffective things?

  1. conservative says:

How do you know prayer for rain has never worked??! what makes you so sure?…

Just because the media doesn’t talk about it or ignores the correlation when it does happen, it doesn’t mean it never happens.

Texans do efficient things. Defending their right to have a gun is one of them.
